Our Faves

Eat

  • H&H Midtown Bagels - Nyame’s (unbiased) opinion is that H&H is the best bagel spot in the city. Get her order: blueberry bagel, toasted, schmear of plain cream cheese.

Taverna Kyclades - Greek food is Nyame’s favorite cuisine. Better yet, Kyclades has been personally approved by her Greek friends.

Colonie - if you’re friends with Nyame, odds are she’s taken you to Colonie in Brooklyn. Get the sticky date pudding - it will change your life.

Midnight Express Diner - Late night diner serving all the classics. Fun fact - it’s across the street from Nyame’s first studio apartment in the UES!

  • Xi’an Famous Foods - Get the N4 and the B1.

Starbucks Cafe - hole-in-the-wall Seattle-based coffeeshop. Mike’s favorite is their Cold Brew™, a new take on the classic iced coffee.

Buddy’s Burrito and Taco Bar - Mike loves burritos.

  • Tim Ho Wan - stop by for delicious, affordable dim sum. Our favorites are the baked BBQ pork buns and the steamed rice.

L’Artusi - one of our favorite Italian spots for date night. Get the tagliatelle and split a bottle of red!

Gaonnuri - pricier Korean restaurant on the 39th floor of a Herald Square building. Great views!

Drink

  • Dear Irving on Hudson - really amazing views of NYC and within walking distance from our venue. Get Nyame’s favorite cocktail: whiskey business.

Bar Tabac - French bar on Smith St. Great rosé and sometimes live music on the weekends.

  • Black Forest Brooklyn - it’s worth the trek from Manhattan! This is Mike’s go-to for after-work drinks and hangin’ with the boys.

Bar Great Harry - Low key pub where a fella can get a drink.

  • Beer Culture - no frills bar serving a variety of draft beers and ciders. Every time we’re near Times Square we pop in for a cold one. Bonus - it’s super close to our venue :)

Gage & Tollner - Brooklyn Institution opened in 1879. Try our favorite, the Whiskey Smash (and the Parker Rolls!).

Explore

  • Painting Lounge - Get creative by painting your own masterpiece. Super fun and affordable activity that’s BYOB.

Tenement Museum - One of Nyame’s favorite museums in the city. Step inside a tenement building and learn about NYC’s immigrant population.

The Gug - Nyame’s endearing name for one of her favorite museums, The Guggenheim, on Museum Mile. Check out the amazing architecture (thanks Frank Lloyd Wright) and then take a stroll through Central Park.

  • Transit Museum - See the history of the New York City subway! Walk through different subway cars from decades past!

Green-Wood Cemetery- New York’s first big green space. Memento mori!

The old pier - Perfect for clandestine meetings with shadowy contacts. Pick a foggy evening!

  • Our personal yacht aka the NYC Ferry - for only $4 you too can have your own party yacht complete with beverage service. We love hopping on at Brooklyn Bridge pier and riding the ferry up the East River.

The Morgan Library and Museum - Visit J. Pierpont Morgan’s own personal library and art collection.

Hudson River Park - go for a riverside run, stroll or rent a CitiBike and bike down the side of Manhattan that’s overlooking God’s country (i.e. New Jersey)
